Would you please post any updates on Club O?

I think our position is the same as many others. We long for any information on Club O. It was our home away from home for so many years.

Are you on the island and if so could you ask Cedric?

Do you know an owner who might update?

It might be a great ongoing thread and bring some current activity to this forum.

We are planning on May and we will do what we can.

carib cheers,

There used to be big July 4th parties on that day, but they originated out of Club O. Now that Club O is no more, don't know what is happening.

Welcome to the Board.

We've been here for six days. No worries. Club O beach is awesome. Great people and overall tans are abundant. We're not foodies and eat at Perch Lite every day so nothing to share on what we ate.
Any signs of clean up, or are things still the same? I'm betting the ruins haven't been touched. 3.5 years, and nothing has been done.

Can you check with Cedric and see if he has heard anything. Thanks.

I'll ask Cedric today if there is anything in the works. Sha might know as well. It's still a total mess and the shady characters still troll around the dilapidated Papagayo all day. We about face on our beach walks well before we get there because it gives my wife the heebie jeebies. But the beach is still wonderful. It's a bummer to sit at perch lite right in front of our favorite Chalet #80 and remember the way things were, but we just look the other direction and see that water and focus on the good stuff. Cheers.
Cedric said he believes they'll start rebuilding somewhere between summer and fall. Not sure what the plan is or what it will look like, but he seemed pretty matter of fact. They had some sort of meeting to hash some things out last night (didn't pick up on everything he said due to his accent and the beach wind) since it appears they won the battle against the crazy rules the mainland of France put on them for building. I don't know what all that means, but it is encouraging.

Thanks for looking into it for us. If they are planning on starting between summer and fall, that means it will be between winter and spring before they get started. I know the islands; been going to one or another of them for 40 years.

If they don't have to comply with the initial rules that were set, then that is a very big deal.

I think Dr. J. is on the Island right now. He and his entourage are easy to spot. Just look for all of the activity and go up and say hello. Please tell him we are thinking about him and all the fun he is having.

I believe Dr.J is arriving on the 15th, three days after us. We hear the beach ball races are legendary!

Yes, I got a little ahead of myself. That's about the same time he arrives each year. It's too early for us for several reasons. We did overlap for a few days in 2017, I think it was.

Jimmy Buffet has a song that states: “I heard I was in town” We do actually land on the 15th. and look forward to meeting people in our group and new friends we haven’t met yet.
My best beach ball story was the day the wind shifted and our well trained, steroid free, beach balls headed out to sea.
Two days later Willie from the Perch called our room at Club O.
The beach balls had arrived in Phillipsburg and made the local paper.
Unfortunately we were flying home that day and didn’t see the paper.

As Willie said “The balloons have arrived.”

carib cheers,
the balls are packed
