Baie Rouge

Question about Baie Rouge. Is the beach clothing optional? And if so, can we walk the beach in the nude?

Now, that brings back good memories. Thanks for posting the map. We have stayed in all of the waterfront chalets except two. The one next to Papagayo's (46) and the one taken out of the rental plan (50). Unfortunately that is all way in the past, and we have, reluctantly, moved on.

Baie Rouge is on the French side, so being topless is allowed. Club O Beach is the only beach where nudity is legal on the Island. Other beaches have an unofficial policy where nude use is allowed. Evidently part of Baie Rouge has nude use. I don't know how large of area that is as we have never been. I imagine walking nude on the nude use part of the beach would be OK, until it isn't. We briefly checked out other nude use beaches, but no need for us to go anyplace other than Club O Beach.

If you are staying near Baie Rouge, I understand your interest in this beach.

everybody talking about the good old days. Doesn't hurt to go back in our minds. My wife circled all the places we stayed. Good times.

Cool. Thanks for posting. We've spent so much time looking at that map. Brings back great memories.
Yes, thanks for posting the map. It brings back great memories for so many. Fortunately we got to circle 34 once. Unfortunately we didn't get to circle more.

Life's a beach!
We haven't been back to Baie Rouge since Pre Irma but we have visited multiple times in the past and enjoyed au naturel,

The beach is large and there is ample room between patrons so everyone has there own space, There were other couples in the nude as well and there wasn't any issues. We didn't see anyone walking the beach nude but it is challenging to walk the beach because of the deep sand so beach walkers were few and far between in general. As someone else stated as you look at the water go left and walk until you feel comfortable distance from the textiles.

I still walk Orient in the mornings. Pre Irma I have seen the Gendamare while nude, waved to them and they waved back. Post Irma, I too now wear a cover up in the mornings but last year I did see the occasional nude male. I would estimate the lady was topless in about 30% of the couples that I observed walking in the mornings.

I too have noticed that not many women walk topless. It surprises me that so few women avail themselves of this opportunity to rid themselves of their tops. If we don't use this freedom, it may well be taken away from us.

Sorry to contradict you on this point, I am in SXM right now, and just betwen 3PM and 4, thumbsUpI saw several women walking the entire Orient Beach topless.thumbsUp. I also saw one man with a string (well more a pouch than a Gstring).

Good. My frame of reference is our walks down the beach during the morning hours between about 7 and 10. Usually I was the only topless woman walking the beach. Occasionally there would be one or two others, usually from Club O. Glad it's coming back.
