Club O

Does anyone have news of Club O?
I hope everyone is safe. Would love to know what we can do to help. If it is a rebuild then I would think those who love the Club would book now to get a revenue stream going and or prepay our stay.
Let's hope everyone at the club and all employees (friends ) are safe.

Looks like there are properties that survived but I will hold off until the absolute last minute. I am the eternal optimist and I hope Club O rises and some units become available.
carib cheers,

Tree lizard is anxious to check out the perch lite;) There are just too many of us who have come to enjoy the beauty, serenity and international community of the place. We will all be back!
We were there this weekend, the damage is devastating, saw a section of one of the wooden mini suites sitting on the property line by where Pedros used to be. Perch Lite is up and running enjoyed a couple of cold beers and a burger and fries, beach got quite busy, Club O will be renting chairs out starting today, but it will be a long time till they reopen. :-(

If you go to their Facebook page Florence is pictured in their new office facility in the village.
It was nice to see her smiling face!

Is there any construction at Club O or is only Perch Lite there?
@thedeputydog is there now. I heard from him yesterday, but he mentioned no construction. Perhaps he will chime in and give us a boots on the ground report.

Just realized that Club O has received no payment from the insurance company. With no insurance funds, there will be no rebuilding. So, I think I can answer your question without actually being there. Probably no further clean up either.

This was such a huge and devastating loss, I wonder if the insurance company has the ability to indemnify the resort? That is a scary thought.

My understanding from the very long and fairly extensive report from Club O Facebook post is,The insurance has basically been settled and the money is waiting, but the insurance co. won't release the funds due to some fly in the ointment owners with lawyers. Correct me if this is wrong. Here's hoping for a quick resolution and rebuilding to begin! eightball

Life's a beach!
There was no sign of demo, clean up and or construction at the resort. We were there yesterday and saw a couple of backhoes parked in the taxi parking area but no sign of them being used. My wife's first reaction when we got out of the car was, "Oh my God, there's nothing left!". The road behind Pedro's is even hard to decipher. This was our first time being C/O and I surely hope the resort and the owners can get their S&*T together to rebuild because I will definitely rent a week there.
I just reread Christa's review from June and both my wife and I agreed that the pictures of the area, buildings etc are exactly the same as it is right now.
Cedric has started a facebook page for the Club O beach, Perch lite, etc.

What a wonderful day. There were about 200 people on Orient beach in the club section. It was like a homecoming. We reconnected with many couples that we last saw two years ago. We will post an update on the island but wanted to share a joyful post.

There were only a dozen folks on the textile side. Cedrick, perch lite and the bell at happy hour were where the commerce was.
That sounds great! Were most of those 200 people c/o?

While most had stayed at Club O in the past, I do not think that any were members.

Maho and Marigot are only remnants of their prior selves. We saw only three places open in Maho last night and one of those was a cigar bar. The medical School area has several more places to eat. La Sucreire, sarafina, and virtually everything facing the water in Marigot are gone. There is life around the marina in Marigot. Simpson Bay is bouncing back. We ate a great meal at Karakter

We are staying in Terra Basse so are driving everywhere. We are encountering traffic jams at the causeway, Simpson Bay and between Marigot and Grand Case. I don’t know what is causing them.

Several wonderful restaurants in the village. We will post an update on the Village soon. Heading off to find croissants and French coffee.

Not familiar with the "textile side." What and where is it?

The textile side is anything north of the rocks.
