My wife and I just took a cruise with a port stop there. We were excited for an afternoon of sunbathing. I was a little nervous at first. After we got our suites off and got in the water all the nerves went away. It was so relaxing. What a beautiful beach. We loved it so much that we decided to plan a vacation to club orient next year. Does anyone have any good or bad reasons why not to come in May? Thank you

I think last year Club O closed during September. You will be fine in May. We were there in May/June last year. All was well.
Thank you so much. We were a little worried that there might not be much open. We heard a lot of things close down on the off season. We are really looking forward to it
You made a good choice in going to Club O. We stayed the first two trips at Alamanda and Cap Caribes, but spent the days at the Club O beach. The third year we really didn't have a good reason for not staying at Club O. Haven't looked back since.

How is Papagayo during the summer? A couple nights ago we were sitting next to a couple who were there in May and they said there were only about four other couples eating. A lot of our fun times involve dancing, but with so few people there I'm not sure it would be much fun.

If you're staying at Club O and planning on cooking, bring any favorite cooking utensils. The kitchens are stocked with the basics, but can be a bit odd. The first time I stayed there, the kitchen came with a non-stick skillet but only metal utensils. We brought our own skillet and non-stick safe utensils the second time.
Don't expect to find things like a garlic press or measuring cups. The ovens have no temperature indication other than high to low.
Other than that, all I need is sunscreen, toiletries, and something minimal to wear if walking down the beach beyond the club. (and maybe a hammer in case they are harvesting the coconuts again. Getting into a fresh coconut with a multi-tool and a rock was interesting but tasty.
